ABOUT US

SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

Through learning in English, we foster the ability to learn, the power of the mind, the power of the body, and raise children who can use a wide range of knowledge to freely carve out their futures

EDUCATIONAL GOALS

We aim to help children learn natural English and develop compassion to others in a home-like atmosphere.

1. English Education

Utilizing the track record and know-how of JO Foreign Language School (English conversation classes), which has continued since 1989, JO International Preschool has developed a unique curriculum that aims to help the students acquire a well-balanced knowledge of four language skills; speaking, listening, writing, and reading. The students by repeating what they learn in lessons (input) and practical use in school life (output) every day, they will acquire higher English proficiency in an environment similar to natural acquisition of their native language.

2. Ability to think

As the students learn and study different themes each month, they will try to derive the answer from the clues in front of them, realize what they should do in the moment, and guess what will happen in the future. By doing this, the students will develop the ability to think. In addition, while communicating their thoughts and feelings to others verbally, they will also develop the ability to empathize with others, listen to others’ opinions, and think from the other person’s point of view.

3. The power of the mind

“The power of the mind – non-cognitive ability -” refers to powers related to a person’s mind and social skills, such as motivation, perseverance, cooperation, and self-control, which cannot be measured by IQ or academic achievement tests.

We will encourage students to aim for higher goals and develop their ability to persevere and see things through to the end. In addition, through interactions with others, the students develop social skills such as caring for others, empathy, and the ability to build relationships of trust.

4. Basic Life Skills

The students acquire basic lifestyle habits through repeated experiences of doing things around them by themselves. These include, eating, using the restroom, sleeping, putting on and taking off clothes, and cleaning themselves.

5. Safety Education

We provide safety education (hygiene) to protect children’s health, and safety education (activity) to foster the ability to predict and avoid dangers hidden in daily life and play, such as learning how to use equipment and tools correctly. Additionally, through evacuation drills held once a month, the students learn how to protect themselves in the event of a natural disaster or encountering a suspicious person.
